The movie itself was fine, decent picture quality and sound, about the only passable thing of the whole experience. Coming from out of town, it's amazing that this is basically the only theater in a city of this size.
Has gone way downhill since AMC took over. Not clean at all, popcorn and trash all over parking lot, lobby, and theater. We had good service at ticket counter but line at concession was very long. No toilet paper in multiple bathroom stalls. Very disappointed because this used to be a very nice, very clean theater with very well trained staff.
The concessions were overpriced and unbelievably slow. At one point, there were so many people waiting for food, a woman ordered a hot dog and was informed it would be about an hour. The people working the counter seemed like they'd never been behind it before.
Despite arriving 1/2 hour early, the showing we wanted to see was sold out, so we went to a later showing. I guess that's because this is about the only option in town, which is also probably why it was so subpar.
The people were great at customer service but not at retail overall. The guy at the food counter was discussing his sexual exploits as if there were no women present. Thankfully, my wife doesn't offend easy. Second, the place was disgusting as far as cleanliness. If I were an auditor, I would have shut down the concessions and made the staff clean everything before reopening. The staff were friendly and apologized for conditions, but did not fix them. Someone please treat this like a business and not just a cash cow!!!
The floor was sticky and the lobby was a mess. Lights in the theater were burnt out. The whole place seemed unmaintained and run down.
First time going to the movies in Tennessee, but not the first for an AMC. Was surprised to see a curved screen. Not sure if it improved the movie at all, but it was great as well as the sound. Prices for food and drinks aren't cheap but never has been when going to the movies. Bought a big popcorn and two drinks (combo 2) and it cost more than the four adult tickets we bought to go. The restrooms were clean as was the rest of the place. The concessions got people through fairly quickly, which wasn't bad. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.
This was the worst. We got to the theater before 5:00 pm to watch the 5 o'clock showing of Thor. That time was sold out so we bought tickets for the 6:00 show and waited in the lobby, for an hour, sitting on the floor since the manager thought it would be a good idea to remove the table and chairs to get rid of the people loitering, and with 8 total people so we could get a good seat for all of us. We were the only few out there waiting but yet when we are finally allowed to go back to the theater, which was one of their smaller ones which made no sense with opening weekend of Thor, it's already full and we have to sit in the very front rows. After talking with a manager, there was no explanation as to where these people were and how this happened and they only offered free popcorn, that we already had and was burnt. Hope the new one is better or we'll be driving to Smyrna. Worst experience.
