Took my daughter to The Wilderness Center for their Wild Things program today. It was different from any other olay group setting I've found so far. I love how everything is nature related of course. The took the kids (1-4) on the tiniest hike to look for seeds and berries it was so cute! They sang songs related to what the "lesson plan" was for the day and then a craft project. The highlight is that they bring out an animal! This week was all about corn and seeds so they glued popcorn to a paper corn cob. They are go to see a Corn Snake up close and personal! At only $3 it is so worth the money. Will be back next week for Turtles and Turkeys the week after that!
Usually clean, nice facility, and the kids working the concession stand some we're very pleasant but the few times we were at ballgames they we're not friendly, food was not good and overall service rated from 1 to 10 with 10 being the best - score would be 1.5. !!! Hopefully, they will improve and have better customer service and drop the attitudes.
Awesome park. I mainly go here to play disc golf and the course is great. A few weeks ago they even put brand new baskets on every hole.
Come join the TTA - Tennessee Trails Association. They meet once a month at the Barfield Crescent Park. They plan great hikes all over the state that include waterfalls, gorgeous high elevation views, short and longer-duration hikes in the woods, state parks and cities. They also give presentations on wonderful places individual members have hiked or traveled.
Great walking trails, abundance of baseball and softball fields, and one of the area's best beginner and advanced disc golf courses. There is an activity for any member of your family and also has the wilderness station that does teaching on survival and outdoor activities and has some types of the native wildlife present for viewing up close. I would recommend this park to everyone.
