I've been a subscriber for the past 25+ years. This week we were informed that our subscription rate will increase to $30/mo. The DNJ has, in my opinion for a long time been a marginal publication. Given the massive growth in our community one would expect much more from its local paper. If you like high school sports it's covered. Beyond that the bulk of items are lifted from the Tennessean and USA Today. There is little of local substance provided. Now that this little paper will cost me more than my Wall Street Journal subscription, I can no longer justify its expense. My fall back, the free weekly M'boro Post gives me much of what I need.
