As for the atmosphere: I love how I am not bombarded by wait staff and bartenders. They are very attentive, and they allow you to be comfortable. Nobody truly likes being asked every five minutes how they are doing. The staff here knows how to take care of customers.
I have eaten here several times. The service is not bad. The food is amazing. The only thing I have gotten that was not good was the soft pretzel appetizer. Everything else is amazing, especially the horseshoe.
Unfortunately, my experience at the bar was not a positive one. I walked in on a Sunday night thinking the bar might be slammed with NFL fans but I was able to find a seat quickly. That was the only thing that would happen quickly for the next hour plus. The bartenders weren't slammed at all and they weren't worried about their customers. It took several minutes to order a beer which was cold and 2 for 1 much to my surprise. After that it only took 20 minutes to get the attention of either bartender to obtain a menu. Once I decided on what I wanted to order I again had to flag down a bartender to place said order. The food was fine although my nacho pizza might have had 2 ounces of ground beef on top. While waiting for the pizza I observed several other bar patrons trying to get their bill or order an additional drink but of course the bartenders weren't available (one took his dinner break and left the entire bar to one person) or attentive enough (the lone bartender left was having a lengthy conversation with a server outside the confines of the bar) to recognize their customers. The bartenders tonight were definitely not tuned in to their customers tonight and therefore made my first experience at this restaurant very likely my last.
Walked in with my family and at the podium it stated to seat ourselves. No one waited on us. I looked directly at a waitress twice and she never came over. The first time she looked at me she walked away. We waited for 20 minutes for service and no one approached us. A waitress walked passed our table and never looked at us, but waited on the table next to us who already had their food. Not a good first impression with this place. Everyone working the floor were more concerned with chatting with each other. A man had to get up and ask for his check. We got up and left to eat elsewhere.
Jonathan’s Grille has some of the best eats in town and you just can’t beat the prices either! I was in town, from California to visit some family, and decided to stop in being it was close to where I was staying. I happened to come in during their weekday happy hour where they were offering 2 for 1 specials and $6 appetizers... a rare deal for any Californian
So, I never write reviews on here, but I was surfing Google and came across Blake’s. I was literally sitting at the bar when he posted it. I find it strange, because here I sit with a fresh beer and an offer of a menu. When poker came on one of the TVs, it was immediately changed to hockey.
I wonder if Blake is a plant.
I have often enjoyed pizza, here. As a mattered fact, Jonathan’s puts so much toppings on their pizza that it is hard to eat in the best possible way.
Far be it from Jonathan’s responsibility that patrons aren’t filling every seat on a day that the Preds are not playing and the Titan’s game is long over.
