On February 21, my family and I took a trip to visit my parents in TN. In the car with me were my wife, and our 4 children, including our newborn son. My other 3 children are elementary students. On the interstate, there was an 18 wheel transport truck riding in the far left lane. We approached a construction zone outside of Atlanta and the truck began riding in two lanes as he slowly merged into the center lane. The speed limit was 60 in the construction zone. The truck was going about 25mph, holding up traffic in two lanes. As he merged over, I, along with the cars behind me attempted to proceed in the far left lane. One mile ahead was an arrow to merge right. As I pulled alongside the Bumpus Enterprises truck, the driver quickly merged back left, completely forcing my family of 6 and I off the road and onto the median, or he would have rammed us. I attempted to accelerate around the truck, but he sped up to keep us on the median. I eventually got around him, now doing close to 60mph in the work zone and less than half a mile before the left lane closes. I got around the truck and into the middle lane. The truck did not slow down. He accelerated and attempted to run us off the road again as he forced his truck and cargo between my car and another car while traffic was slowing and he was doing over 60mph in the work zone. My children were crying and screaming in fear for their lives. I slammed on my brakes and yielded to the Bumpus Enterprises truck as he pulled alongside of me and quickly merged over again with no regard for my life, the life of my wife and children, or any of the other motorists in this construction zone. I was in complete shock that this truck driver would attempt to MURDER my family TWICE. At this point, my wife was already videoing the incident. We were able to record all the truck information, DOT information, and a nice shot of the driver, which looks to be the owner. I've done research since then and located company information. So many thoughts of how to handle this have played in my head. I decided to leave reviews to let potential customers know how their products are represented by Bumpus Enterprises. Had I not swerved off the road twice, my family would likely be dead and your company, by association with Bumpus Enterprises, would be named in the news. "The truck was carrying products for.....". The negligence and childish road rage of the driver would cause your delivery to be late. The good thing about living in Atlanta is all major TV networks are here, and they pay good money for stories like this, especially when there is video proof. Talking to CNN now. It took me 2 weeks to be able to speak about this. I seldom leave reviews on businesses. But this man attempted to MURDER my family, using his truck as a weapon and I feel his customer base should know.
