With coupons and sales I can get really nice basic mats and frames cheaply.
Sometimes checkout is a tad slow but usually they open up a new register. Ask for a 40% discount on your highest item and you'll get it. Not hassle like JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby.
The staff is helpful and they have free and pay for classes.

I really like Michael's. Most of all their framing department. I paint watercolors and if they aren't framed with acid free paper, etc. They will deteriorate in time. Hobby Lobby is a good store but they didn't educate me on acid free framing and when I asked about it they said acid free paper is extra.
