This place was awful. Got in late at night to the hotel, they gave us drink vouchers. Went to bar, attempted to get a captain and coke for myself and malibu and coke for my wife, they couldnt find malibu. So we got just rum and coke. They gave us tumbler glasses, put ice in, then put rum in, then out of a pitcher of flat pepsi they poured that in. Then they tell us the drink voucher is only good for wine and beer. Then to top it off they had the nerve to charge $9 a drink. Would not recomend this place at all.
Horrible service. Waited 15 minutes at the bar before someone even acknowledged that I was there. The place was dead. Depending on how busy they are they may close really early. Worst hotel bar I've been in.
Nice atmosphere, delicious food selections. Good size portions not ridiculous huge or small. Reasonable prices. Really awesome staff. Chef K was awesome and receptive to small improvement suggestions. Though a Whiskey Bar should not run out of Whiskey. (It was home coming for the colleges) If I am ever on the area, I will eat here again.
Where to start. If I could give it negative stars, I would. We were visiting for a friend's wedding and we wanted to grab a bite, but didn't want to travel far. This restaurant is located in the Holiday inn, which was right across the street from our hotel. So, naturally, we thought it was a great idea to go there. Boy were we WRONG! We called ahead and made a reservation for 12. When we arrived the place was dead, that should have given it away. The hostess that sat us was very nice, the waitress was nice, but something was up with her. She could not figure out how to take our order, we needed a few separate checks, and she could not figure out how to put us on different tickets. The Hostess finally came back over to help and took half of our party's order, meanwhile the waitress was still trying to figure out our drinks, and over half of us just wanted water! She made us remember our group numbers (which ticket she put us on), and when we did start getting drinks, 20 minutes into it, they were brought out one by one. We started out thinking it was kind of funny, but when the waitress started stumbling and almost falling over, it got weird. She explained that she had a black eye from falling out of the shower, and that she was working doubble shifts and on and on about her personal life. One of our friend's ordered an appetizer that was supposed to come with 4 dips and an assortment of breads, she got microwaved velveta, pace salsa and something we couldn't identify, and was missing the guac. On top of that, the assortment of "breads" were little pretzels chips and tortilla chips! When we told the waitress that this was not what was advertised on the menu, she seemed to get mad and asked "where did you get that!?" we told her that it was ordered from the hostess that she had asked to help her, and she replied "you didn't order that from me!" And took the plate away! After an hour they started bring one plate out at a time, one had "steamed veggies and mashed potatoes". The veggies were straight out of the freezer and the mashed potatoes were gray! We asked to speak to the manager and it just so happened that he was also the cook. He was very nice and asked how he could fix it, we explained that the waitress was being a bit odd and the entire thing was a mess. He appoligized and said he would comp our meals. Moments after he left the waitress came back over and started crying. She said "I hope you don't blame me for this. I entered everything correctly", and made an awkward situation even worse. We got one of the steaks ordered almost completely raw..it was just a mess! And we never got all of our drinks! After watching this circus for about an hour and a half we had to get up and walk out. I've never walked out of a restaurant before, but this place was BAD! we ended up at BJs down the street and had a much better time!! Save yourself the headach and avoid this place.
Great place to have drink and socialize even if you are not staying at the hotel. I attended a friend private party and had a blast! The staff was very professional.
