This clinic was recommended because they work with the Cochlear company that makes the BAHA bone-anchored hearing aid. Everyone that I have encountered there has been extremely competent, knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Mark Converse performed the implant surgery. Everything went smoothly and, at 2 weeks out, I have healed with no complications. I would highly recommend Middle Tennessee ENT to anyone needing this procedure. I don’t feel like just another “number”. They REALLY care about helping me hear again.
My experience at this facility was absolutely atrocious. Not only was there some unnecessary remodeling taking place in the waiting room during my visit, but the staff was extremely rude and degrading. The receptionist raised her voice to me over the phone whenever I called to make an appointment. My appointment was scheduled for 11:00am a week after I called them, and I was in the waiting room for an HOUR! I was called into the doctors office at 12:01 am and it still took the doctor 20 minutes to see me. This is completely ridiculous. I had to cancel my prior plans due to their poor service and demeanor. I will not be returning to this facility again and I recommend that you schedule your doctor's appointments elsewhere.
I reached out to their office and the hospital FIVE TIMES to determine if I needed to abstain from eating or drinking after midnight, did I need a ride to and from? No one, not on any of my 5 calls, could answer these basic questions.
Another week goes by and I’m in serious constant pain, getting worse daily and it’s become debilitating. I called every day that week. On Wednesday 12/20 I hit a different extension and nurse answered. Again in tears I ask her to please see if they could see me sooner and would they call in some pain killers to get me to 1/4/18 if possible. On Thursday i still haven’t heard back and call to leave another message. She calls me back mid day on 12/21. And says “the Dr doesn’t feel it’s acute or emergent enough to warrant pain meds” “at least with out seeing you!!!. I’m flabbergasted . He hasn’t even spoke to me. I’ve offererd to sit in their waiting room open to close to try and get them to fit me in. Nope. Not willing to do this.
The day of procedure, staff and surgeon at hospital were great! They told me 5-7 business days and results would be in.
On the 7th day I began calling my Drs office. I called for nearly 3 weeks and did not receive call back or the one time they did call me back they stated these things take time. Into the 3rd week of my calls I refused to hang up and sat on hold for 45 minutes until someone finally came on the line and told me it was a benign tumor. And since it wasn’t causing issues I could leave it alone or as an afterthought I could talk to their surgeon “she guesses”. This was mid November. I stated it wasn’t bothering me so leaving alone was fine.
Seriously. Avoid this practice at all cost. I’ve been in contact with a malpractice attorney and will be filing a claim with medical board. At the very least they’ve been severely negligent, especially when they diagnosed tumor and sent for biopsy and I called for over 3 weeks for help to no avail.
Since 12/21, The tumor has become a wound and has abscessed. My mother’s GP saw me to get me pain meds and a friend of mine called in an antibiotic and got me in with a surgeon in her practice today 12/27. After she personally checked it every day since 12/21 to keep eye on sepsis and possible spreading of infection. They saved me possible sepsis and probable hospitalization. Meanwhile mid tn ear nose and throat couldn’t care less.
The nurse Cher recommended I call my gp. I inform her they are my gp and I’ve been seeing their office for 10 years and have never requested any type of medication for pain etc. I’m in tears. Basically sobbing. The nurse said I understand why you’re upset and I’m very sorry. I let her know that I wanted to speak directly to the dr. It’s now 12/27 and I haven’t heard from them.
In August at my annual it was noticed that a growth I have on my head behind my ear had changed shape and grown severely in size. They wanted me to have a biopsy, which was scheduled in October 2017.
I had a scheduled appointment for a later date, but I was feeling horrible and needed to see a doctor sooner rather than wait until my appointment date. They were able to get me in the same day with Dr Amanda McMahan of the Murfreesboro location. She was absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable about what I had going on. She took her time and even used some posters make sure I understood what was going inside my body. I highly recommend asking for her when making appointments. Murfreesboro location also has wonderful staff as well. Give them a try.
If I could give them no stars I would. I have been with this office for nearly 10 years.
At the beginning of Dec the growth started hurting and I began calling my dr. After leaving multiple messages over a 4-5 day period the nurse calls me back and tells me they can’t see me until jan 2018. I’m in tears and ask for something sooner because It was hurting intermittently. She informed me no. 1/4/18 was soonest.
I thoroughly enjoy bringing my family to this office; from the time you walk in, to the time you leave it is such a positive atmosphere. The staff is friendly and all of the providers are highly educated. I would refer all my friends to this office.
