Bottom line, if you're desperate, this isn't the worst place to live. If you have no other option, take what you can get. But if you have other places that are actually an option, take your money elsewhere. Unless you're okay work basically being totally on your own if something in your apartment breaks. Like the staff is nice enough but nice only gets you so far. At this point I'm afraid that our apartment won't have a working dryer until I'm moving out.
WORSR PLACE EVER. Do not rent here. Always issues with mantinence, nothing gets done, my locks were changed while I was at work, no one told me and no one answered the emergency line til midnight. Not safe. Also they walk into your apartment with no warning whenever they please to do "checks" of what? Who knows. Avoid this place at all cost. The curb appeal is great but once they have your money you mean nothing to them.
SO. I moved here in June. I've had a few problems already that one I'm pretty sure was illegal by health conditions (I'm not sure there was only mold growing out of my wall from a leaking AC). My favorite of these problems though is the recent payment of my rent. I work in customer service, i understand not everyone is the easiest to deal with. but its still a job. The front desk are rude and constantly closing the office early. November 6th they decided to close at least 30 minutes early. So i decided to video myself going back in and proving they had closed. I also included putting my rent and what was written on the front into the rent drop box. come november 8th i get an email my wifi account has been suspended and my rent was not only unpaid but also had gone up $46. I've already been to the office yesterday and i was told i would get a call they would fix it after taking the numbers from the money order (off the video i took thank God). Come today i got a letter on my door of eviction if i don't pay. I have called corporate in Atl and i'm waiting for a call back from them that i was told 24 hours ago that i would be contacted in 72 hours. we'll see whats going to happen. Not only was the office closed early making me unable to get a receipt from the front desk. but they LOST my rent.
I wasn't really expecting much when I moved in to these apartments. I took a job in Murfreesboro and I had to find a place to live asap. University ridge was pretty much the only place the fit my needs so I took what I could get. That being said, trying to get anything fixed is the biggest hassle ever. Our is now October. We moved in back in June. Our dryer has not worked the entire time we've been here. We've put on multiple maintenance requests but nothing has been done. We're having to spend unnecessary money going to the laundromat so the we can dry or clothes. Usually we just wash our clothes and then hang them up to dry around the apartment so they can dry but that's kind of hard to do with stuff like our bedding.
We've been told that we're getting a new dryer but we were told that in August.
My experience at the University Ridge apartment was nothing to write home about. Moving in was a lot of hassle, I had to lodge several complains and put in tons of work orders before the common area was cleaned out. In addition to that, I was wrongly paired with a nasty roommate and the management did nothing about it although, Simone resolved the issue afterwards so I'd give her credit for that. I don't like talking to Marcus he's all about money he doesn't give a damn about the resident, he's too rude and unprofessional so I don't even bother with him let's leave that aside. Speaking of safety, there have been over 5 shooting incidence since I was at UR, a body was dumped in the parking lot directly to my window. I can go on and on. If you're looking for a place to live and be happy, this is definitely not the place I could've left a zero if I could but I'm glad I made it out alive!
Changed my locks without any prior notice (no email, call, text, note on door). So when I got home from school I couldn't get in my own apartment. When I called up front they were rude and hung up on me. I have had so many issues with this place the past two years. At the end of my lease I will be moving out and posting a full review. Only people I've encountered here that are helpful is Marcus, Symone, and the maintenance staff.
